We are ideally situated whether you are en-route to destinations further into North Wales or spending a few days touring this scenic area. Please note that although we no longer offer bar or restaurant facilities, Llangollen does have a very good selection of restaurants and inns. Prices quoted are for room only, with an optional continental breakfast available, served between 8.00 and 9.30am. Check-in is normally between 2.00pm and 7.00pm, please let us know if you expect to arrive outside these times (your room may not be available until 2.00pm). We are unable to accommodate children below the age of 12 years.

Situated in one of the oldest streets in Llangollen and a few seconds from the high street, Gales has 15 en-suite bedrooms. All our rooms are individually decorated and sympathetically restored in keeping with the historic character of the buildings. Eight of the rooms are above the Wine Bar in a Georgian townhouse, with many original features. The remaining rooms are in a much older timber framed building across the driveway. These rooms have exposed beams, wattle and daub walls and all have original features. All our rooms are available as double or single occupancy, many can be used for twin or family occupancy. All our rooms have tea and coffe making facilities, hair-dryers, direct dial telephones, widescreen televisions and wifi access.

The Wynnstay Hotel was a well known Coaching Inn on both the route from Liverpool to Cardiff and from London to Holyhead. There are references dating back to 1727, but the existing building is typical of the Georgian Style, and there have been many alterations and additions over the years. Almost 35 years later, two further station restorations at Berwyn and Carrog plus seven more miles of track later you have an attraction enjoyed by tens of thousands each year. Even older than both of these are the ruins of Valle Crucis Abbey and Dinas Bran Castle respectively. The castle is perched high on a hill over-looking Llangollen and was the home of the founder of the Abbey, Madog.
