The house originally built for the Artist and his family remained his home until his death in the late 40s. (1857 Dublin -1947 Newlyn, Cornwall), Forbes was an artist and member of the then influential Newlyn school of painters. He was married to fellow painter Elizabeth Adela Stanhope Forbes (1859-1912) The house is approached by a 500 metre long driveway, situated in large Private grounds (with lawn for guest use) in a very quiet and peaceful location, ideally situated for all pursuits, close to many stunning beaches such as lamorna and Porthcurno, and of course Mounts Bay for those keen on wind and water sports. The Cottage hotel is situated in extensive grounds overlooking Carbis Bay, 300 yards from the beach and two minutes walk from Carbis Bay railway station which is a delightful 5 minute journey from St.Ives. The heated outdoor swimming pool is available through from May to September. The restaurant and sun lounge have lovely views of the bay.
