The house originally built for the Artist and his family remained his home until his death in the late 40s. (1857 Dublin -1947 Newlyn, Cornwall), Forbes was an artist and member of the then influential Newlyn school of painters. He was married to fellow painter Elizabeth Adela Stanhope Forbes (1859-1912) The house is approached by a 500 metre long driveway, situated in large Private grounds (with lawn for guest use) in a very quiet and peaceful location, ideally situated for all pursuits, close to many stunning beaches such as lamorna and Porthcurno, and of course Mounts Bay for those keen on wind and water sports. The Commercial Hotel is a small family run former coaching inn well known locally for its warm welcome and great food.
