The Royal Oak is a small family run Inn with a warm, welcoming atmosphere, and enjoys a busy life all year round. Situated in the very heart of Bowness on Windermere. The Royal Oak is literally a stones throw from the Bowness bay piers, Lake Windermere and only a few minutes walk from the many traditional craft and gift shops. Our double en-suite rooms are of different sizes, some larger then others, our two single rooms have a shared bathroom but all of them, without exception, are very comfortable, traditional and homely, renowned for our full English breakfast and hospitality. All have central heating, tea and coffee making facilities, colour television and of course…a bed.

We have 18 of 2 bed self catering apartments which are rented by the week from Saturday to Saturday and 2 hotel bedrooms (1 double and 1 triple) The self catering apartments are fully self contained with everything one could wish for. The double hotel room consist of a double bed, ensuite bathroom, two seater settee, television/dvd player, small fridge and coffee/tea facilities. The triple hotel room are as the double room but with an extra single bed and chair. All our rooms have wireless internet access for a small fee. One car parking space is allocated to each apartment and hotel room.

Buckle Yeat Guest House is situated in the village of Near Sawrey, which is an ideal location for touring the English Lake District and discovering the real Lakeland. Hill Top Farm, former home of the writer and artist, Beatrix Potter is situated almost next door to our guest house. Where Country House Hotel meets Boutique Hotel under new management for the past 18months and recently refurbished ....our magnificent country house hotel & restaurant, is still very traditional but has a slight hint of boutique luxury....we are situated in 7 acres of magnificent grounds in the troutbeck valley. We combine warm luxurious surroundings, fine dining and a 5 star service that is second to none. Lakes Lodge offers contemporary townhouse bed and breakfast accommodation in the centre of Ambleside. Chef-proprietor Chris Blaydes (Master Chef of Great Britain) has re-sited the renowned local restaurant Jerichos into the Waverley, to become a restaurant with rooms. Set in a beautiful, detached stone building circa 1870, situated on a quiet road in Windermere village with large private car park. The building retains many original features and is bursting with character. Jerichos now has a marvellous contemporary dining room creating a wonderful match of Victorian and modern styles within this beautiful building. Jerichos has been awarded 2AA rosettes in the AAs Restaurant Guide, and continues to be highly rated in The Good Food Guide, Hardens and Michelin. We have an extensive wine list and are passionate about our food and wine, a passion we hope to share with you. All our scrupulously clean bedrooms are ensuite, have colour television, tea and coffee making facilities. Some bedrooms can be twinned and contain either a standard double or a king size bed, furnished with clean crisp white linen. The Log House is an historic Norwegian log cabin in Ambleside, the heart of the English Lake District. Originally brought to the Lake District by Artist Alfred Heaton Cooper nearly 100 years ago as a home and studio. The Log House now serves as a restaurant with three comfortable double en-suite bedrooms. Please note the restaurant is closed for dinner on Mondays

The Willowsmere was built around 1860 as an imposing Lakeland family residence, it has been tastefully restored and renovated to a high standard and includes the luxuries that you would expect if staying in a fine English hotel. The Guesthouse has 13 en suite bedrooms all recently refurbished including new luxury pocket sprung beds and those little extras that make your stay a pleasant and relaxing one. There are 2 lounges for guests use and a large landscaped secluded garden where you can enjoy a drink from the well-stocked cellar. The Willowsmere has a large off road car park and is centrally located; 8 minutes walk from Windermere centre and train station and 5 minutes walk from the tranquil shores of Lake Windermere. The Queens Head is an historic 17th Century Coaching Inn, situated in the Troutbeck Valley, just 3 miles from Windermere. Throughout the inn are solid oak beams, stone flag floors and heartwarming log fires by which you can enjoy a deserved drink, ordered from the bar which was once an Elizabethan four-poster bed from a room in Appleby Castle.
