Welcome The Peacock is a traditional, friendly pub situated in the town centre of picturesque Bakewell in the heart of the Peak District National Park. Since the old stable conversion is a 200-year old building, each room is quite distinctive and have exposed beams and stonework, while the building itself has many charming nooks and crannies and as it is separate to the pub you will have exclusive separate accommodation to the pub itself! Our bar is a great meeting place and we have a comfortably furnished dining area offering varied menu with a wide range of specials. The many attractions of the Peak District are within easy reach, as is Alton Towers. The Peacock Pub is situated in the town centre of Bakewell with ample parking space adjacent to the pub. The Monsal Head Hotel is situated overlooking the beautiful Monsal Dale in the centre of the Peak District National Park. It is three miles from the market town of Bakewll, with Chatsworth House and Haddon Hall a ten minute drive. The Samuel Fox Country Inn is situated in the pretty village of Bradwell and offers breathtaking views from the bar and restaurant. Hawthorn farm is a family run 16 century grade 2 listed house built around 1580, the house still contains original oak beams, stone flag floors and period fire places. the house and stable block were converted in to guest accommodation over 50 years ago. We have two rooms within the main house and the remaining rooms are in the converted cow sheds. All the rooms are en-suite with tea and coffee making facities, hair dryer, radio alarm clock and colour tv. There is also a two room suite with seperate shower room and toilet ideal for a family or a small group. It consists of one twin room and a double room with an extra single bed. This is our first year in Buxton and we pride ourselves on delivering the best possible service that we can. A three-storey building constructed in sandstone with a Roman Doric doorcase and raised quoins, it has made a substantial contribution to the history of the local area. The Greyhound provided lodging for visitors to Cromford and was used as the location for festivities organised by Sir Richard Arkwright for his workforce. The Arkwrights also used it for business. It was here in the Public Room that Richard Arkwright junior instructed Georgina Duchess of Devonshire to leave her answer as to how she intended to repay the money she owed him.
