A family run hotel, currently in it’s third generation. We combine the traditional values of a welcoming atmosphere and good, fresh food, locally sourced where possible, and an informal, yet attentive service. Having just past its centenary year, our beautiful Edwardian hotel was constructed in the Arts and Crafts period. The building is set in its own mature, well maintained gardens, only five minutes walk away from Buxton centre, with its many attractions including the Opera House and the Pavilion Gardens. The hotel provides and excellent base to explore the Peak District and local area, or as a place to escape and relax. Our cosy bar lounges are ideal to sit back in and watch the world go by. The Westminster is a small,family run hotel which enjoys an enviable position overlooking the Pavilion Gardens.Your host Shelley aims to give her guests great food and good hospitality. There are 12 double bedrooms, all have the option of being single or double and an extra bed can be arranged on request. All the bedrooms have their own bathroom/shower, toilet, hairdrier, colour TV and tea/coffee making facilities. Downstairs there is a lounge/function room and a dining room. All rooms are non-smoking. The Breakfast Menu is flexible and made with fresh local produce wherever possible. The menu is adaptable for vegetarians or those with special food requirements (by arrangement in advance, although your special needs will be accommodated whenever possible). The main entrance to the Westminster is from Broadwalk, a leafy pedestrian way running along the Pavillion Gardens. Car access and parking is to the rear of the hotel from Hartington Road. Our traditional working sheep farm is situated at 1200 above sea level, on the quiet, unspoiled western side of the Peak District National Park. We enjoy excellent open countryside with far-reaching views over the Cheshire Plain to the Welsh mountains. In our B & B we have range of single, twin, double, family and disabled access rooms which are located in what had been the milking parlour and the hay store. Of course, they are done to a very high standard and provide an ideal balance of comfort and facilities.
