Situated between the towns of Bideford & Bude on the A39 North Atlantic Highway, this historic inn lies close to the English heritage village of Clovelly. Set in approx 2.5 acres, the inn is surrounded by beautiful countryside and is perfect for business or pleasure. The Inn comprises of two restaurants, conference/function room, games room, lounge and bar area. Outside there is a large car park for up to 100 vehicles and a large beer garden. For our diners, there is an extensive menu from which to choose. All of our dishes are home cooked utilising only the finest and freshest local ingredients. Main courses start from as little as £6.95 and up to £14.95. For the holiday maker, there is an abundance of local activities to suit all ages. The inn is located very close to an 18 hole golf course, beaches, game ranges, an adventure park or two, Tamar Lakes, coastal walks and within easy reach of a day trip to Lundy Island.

The Half Moon Inn is well known, not just for the fishing but for our superb food, cask conditioned ales, well stocked bar and wine cellar, with wines from around the world to suit most palates. A magnificent log fire is a focal point in colder weather and the unique village inn atmosphere creates an ideal setting for our guests to meet informally and mix with the local people. You do not have to fish to enjoy a relaxing time with us, we extend a warm welcome to anyone who wishes to stay, from walkers and cyclists to businessmen and property hunters! The Half Moon has had visitors from all over the world who have experienced the atmosphere of a traditional English inn, and many have returned several times. All the rooms in the main building at the Half Moon are typical of a building dating back to the 16th century, with exposed beams, low windows and one of the favourites has a sloping floor. Here at the Half Moon we currently have 11 bedrooms, 7 of which are housed in the main building, with a further four in our purpose built annexe. We are very ‘pet friendly’ here and our annexe is perfect for those who wish to bring their dogs, as it offers easy access to our courtyard and parking. However dogs are restricted to the guest bedrooms and bar. All the main building rooms have been recently refurbished with new bathrooms, bedding, drapes and modern flat screen televisions.

Superb award-winning organic food grown on the 130 acre Coombeshead Estate combined with walks through the 60 acres of woodland and ponds teeming with wildlife help you to unwind and relax to recharge those tired batteries. No children under 12. Totally non-smoking throughout the premises. Organic lamb and pork reared on the estate , eggs from geese, ducks and chickens. Organic orchards and kitchen garden provide almost all that is needed for the kitchen. Vegetables and salads picked just hours before your meal. Coombeshead Estate Stud boasts brood mares, young stock and several foals each spring, destined for flat racing. A quad bike is available for those with walking difficulties.
