The North Cliff Hotel, standing in its own grounds, has some of the finest views of the North Devon coastline. It is in a peaceful position some 500 feet above sea level on the well known marine North Walk overlooking Lynmouth Bay and the beautiful Watersmeet Valley, and a 200 metre walk to Lynton. On the steep slopes of the magnificently wooded Heddon Valley, hidden in a spectacular setting at the end of a quarter-mile private drive, you will discover Heddon’s Gate. This is a true country house hotel, run by its owners, Anne and Eddie Eyles. It is secluded and tranquil, and is set in more than 2½ acres of its own gardens and woodland. Built as a hunting lodge in the 1890s, when the Victorian wealthy were choosing all the best sites for their country estates, the hotel is now a charming fusion of different styles. Heddon’s Gate is an AA two-star Country House Hotel, with a 78% merit score. We are proud to be featured in the independent and respected Good Hotel Guide.
