The Talbot is a "pub with rooms", providing ensuite accommodation which has been awarded a 4* rating, with silver accolade, from VisitBritain. All rooms are non-smoking and have a flatscreen TV with freeview, hairdryer, tea and coffee making facilities and free, wireless, internet access. We serve superb food from an innovative menu which enables our kitchens to use - at its seasonal best - fresh, local, organic produce where possible. The Lamb began trading as a public house probably as early as the 12th Century. By 1870 it was already well established as a posting inn that supplied 300 post horses for coaches going to and from London and the West Country. To this day the building retains plenty of its original character and features including inglenook fireplaces, flag stone floors and heavy wooden beams. Inside you will find the Dining Room, the Whisky & Cigar Bar, the Sitting Room and the Meeting Room as well as twenty individually furnished bedrooms. The bar is lively at the weekend, and could be considerd as noisy. Karaoke is held on Bank Holiday Sunday nights, and is popular with visitors as well as locals.The Swan Inn is a traditional lively "pub with rooms" offering a warm welcome and friendly atmosphere. Dating back some 300 years, the inn started life as a pub in the 1950s. Now in 2007 the inn has been sympathetically extended and has four sumptuous en-suite letting rooms, the bar and dining areas have lovely old beams, log fires and a warm, inviting ambience created by hosts Peter and Helen Turner. Who have put their experience to excellent use in making the Saxon Inn one of the most appealing pubs for many miles around. Ringwood best and Butcombe Bitter are the regular real ales, joined by changing guests and all kept in tip-top condition - CAMRA Good Beer Guide approved of course. The food is another good reason for a visit here. There is a wide choice of traditional pub dishes featured in the A la Carte menu, supported by a daily specials board reflecting the seasonal choices and availability of fresh fish. The food is locally sourced and predominately home cooked by Helen and her excellent kitchen team. For the lighter appetite and for those in need of a quicker alternative there is a selection of Jacket potatoes and sandwiches. Food is served lunchtime seven days a week and every evening . Theres a separate dining area with a wood-burning stove in an impressive brick hearth.

Applehay Studio is set on the Dorset, Wiltshire border in a rural setting in the middle of a traditional picturesque village green. It is directly opposite a friendly village pub, which dispenses real ales and home cooked food. There are also many other eating establishments within a 10 minute drive. The Studio has a view of the village pond and is surrounded by many acres of common land, with walks and cycling from the door. It is an ideal rural retreat for a couple wishing to explore the area. We also have wireless broadband connection. We are 5 minutes from Shaftesbury with its famous Gold Hill, half an hour from Salisbury and 8 minutes from the A303. Sorry no pets allowed. This historic 400 year old Manor House, with its beautiful walled gardens are there for your use, there is an orchard, two carp ponds and a dovecot. All set in 500 acres of Organic farmland, which is mainly grass and corn on the Somerset, Dorset Border. The original house which is now a ruin is reputed to have accommodated Elizabeth I while she toured her realm.
