The Manor is conveniently situated in the quiet rural village of Torthorwald, away from town centre noise, but just 2 miles off the A75 Dumfries by-pass on the A709 and eight miles from the M/A74 main North/South trunk road at Lockerbie. The Hotel not only boasts comfortable rooms but also a wide choice of food with superb menus both in the bar and the restaurant, and more importantly at affordable prices, cooked on site by our two expert chefs. Food is available seven days a week at lunch time and in the evenings. All the bedrooms are en-suite and carry many of the little extras.As well as a friendly village bar there is also a coffee lounge and spacious restaurant. Hightae is only a few of miles off the A74 at Lockerbie and a bit of a hidden gem. The surrounding countryside offers an abundance of footpaths, river walks and quiet country lanes. The area has been popular with fishermen and game shooters for many years with the River Annan yielding decent catches of sea trout, brown trout and salmon. We bought the establishment (formerly the Royal Four Towns Inn) in January 2008 and undertook an extensive renovation programme to bring the Inn up to the high standard you will find today.
