An old coaching house recently refurbished with contemporary rooms, situated in an historic market town, which makes a good touring base for the Solway coast. Hightae is only a few of miles off the A74 at Lockerbie and a bit of a hidden gem. The surrounding countryside offers an abundance of footpaths, river walks and quiet country lanes. The area has been popular with fishermen and game shooters for many years with the River Annan yielding decent catches of sea trout, brown trout and salmon. We bought the establishment (formerly the Royal Four Towns Inn) in January 2008 and undertook an extensive renovation programme to bring the Inn up to the high standard you will find today.

The Moreig Hotel was a Victorian private townhouse and was converted to a hotel in the early 1900s. The Black family took over the hotel in 1990, transforming it to a flourishing local hotel with a welcoming and friendly atmosphere and a reputation for good food.
