Set in the north Essex countryside The White Horse Inn & Lodge at Ridgewell is ideally situated for the nearby attractions of the Colne Valley railway, the castle at Castle Hedingham, Gainsboroughs birthplace at Sudbury, historic Lavenham and Audley end house near Saffron Walden to mention but a few. The newly built Lodge accommodation at the rear of the pub offers five double rooms, two twin rooms and two family rooms. All rooms are spacious and light. All are en-suite. We have taken great care to ensure your stay is as comfortable as your own home. However, in line with recent regulations we do have a no smoking policy within the pub & lodge.

The Waggon & Horses is a family owned country pub hotel restaurant in North Essex close to the Suffolk county border half way between Colchester and Cambridge near to Halstead, Braintree, Sudbury and Haverhill. The White Hart has recently seen a change of management (late August 2009) and is now offering a fresh approach to our bed and breakfast accommodation. Scenarios accommodation is a recently built development in the style of a barn conversion and is detached from the main pub. There are en-suite facilities, tv and tea and coffee making facilities in each room. We are situated close to the High Street of a bustling market town close to restaurants and other amenities. Breakfast is available from 07.30 to 08.30 and Brambles coffeeshop and restaurant is located inside the pub, they serve coffee, tea and cakes and all day breakfast from 09.30 and home made luches from 12.00 to 15.00 Mon-Sat (Brambles food is not included in the price). There is also a function room and beer garden in the grounds.
