Unique Add On Whilst you are here why not take the chance to enjoy a unique sailing trip with your hosts Anne and Ken onboard their luxury yacht. Trips are available every day – weatherpermitting – and include lunch onboard. Each trip is different and there is the chance to sight whales, dolphins, seals and of course, our beautiful islands. The beautiful 42ft yacht – Solus na Mara – was bought at the London Boat Show at the beginning of 2007. These trips are available exclusively to hotel guests from Monday to Saturday, April to September.

Built as a hunting lodge for the Clan Macdonald family in the 1860s, Duisdale sits in its own grounds of 30 acres which include lush, sleepy gardens and extensive ancient woodlands. The hotel itself has recently been completely refurbished and is now a stylish, contemporary, retreat. Beyond its stone and slate exterior lie many original features; the original fireplaces, beautiful staircase and ornate ceiling cornices, which all blend perfectly with the hotels’ new dramatic, chic interior. Luxurious, contemporary fabrics and wall coverings together with chic new furniture combine to create the perfect backdrop for the extensive a la carte menu, where each dish is creatively prepared mainly using fresh Island produce – all with a contemporary twist of course! Skye Seafood including Langoustines and Scallops, Lamb, Beef, organic vegetables and salad leaves are all skillfully prepared by the talented kitchen brigade. Feature and Four Poster beds make up the eighteen, mainly double bedrooms, each one unique in design and layout. With the emphasis on romance and luxury, sensuous Arran Aromatic Toiletries, thick fluffy towels and crisp bedding all complete the luxurious package. Exclusive daily sailing trips are available from April to September on the hotels private yacht which is crewed by owners Anne and Ken. This is indeed a magical experience. The Ardvasar Hotel was built in the early 1800s making it one of the oldest hotels on Skye. Situated in the beautiful Garden of Skye overlooking the Sound of Sleat and the magnificent Knoydart Mountains beyond. The hotel is only 800 metres from Armadale, here the ferry from Mallaig brings you Over the sea to Skye. Many of our rooms have magnificent sea views. All rooms have been recently renovated offering a high standard of accommodation. All our rooms have ensuite bath and shower. The Ardvasar Hotel is renowned for its food. We offer the highest quality of fresh ingredients. Fresh fish is landed daily, including fresh salmon, crab, scallops and lobster. Local Venison and finest Aberdeen Angus beef also feature on our menu.

The hotel dates back to the Jacobite era, and was originally built as a Coaching Inn around 1720. It is situated in the village looking across Arisaig Bay towards the Isles of Eigg and Muck. Set on the scenic Road to the Isles, Arisaig is 35 miles from Fort William, and 8 miles from Mallaig (the ferry terminal for Skye). The hotel offers 13 ensuite bedrooms (2 single, 6 double, 3 twin, 2 family), all tastefully furnished and decorated. All rooms are centrally heated and have a direct dial telephone, remote control colour television, coffee and tea making facilities. Most bedrooms have sea views. All bedrooms are non-smoking. The hotel is open all year with the exception of December 24th, 25th and 26th. Why not celebrate the New Year with us? We also cater for small conferences or meetings from October to March. RESTAURANT & BARS We serve lunches and evening meals in our newly refurbished bar & snug. Breakfast is served in the restaurant. The restaurant is also available for functions; it has a seating capacity of 40. All food is freshly prepared drawing on the areas natural produce, with emphasis on seafood. We have a separate Childrens Menu. Please let us know when you book if you require any special diets (vegetarian, vegan, etc.) and we will endeavour to do our best to cater for them. Families are very welcome as we have 2 family rooms and hold a childrens certificate for the lounge bar. Our playroom is well equiped with a variety of toys and games to amuse children of all ages. The hotel is fully licensed and has 2 bars offering a range of around 70 malt whiskies. Morning coffee and afternoon tea are served daily in the lounge, accompanied by delicious home-made scones.
