The Swan Inn is a country pub situated on the main A1065 between Brandon and Swaffham.  It is ideally located in the centre of Norfolk making it a good location for both coast and touring, with both en-suite letting rooms and self catering barns it is ideal for both  holiday makers or business guests. The Bull is a traditional coaching Inn dating from the early 17th century, although the foundations date from the mid 1300s making it the second oldest Inn in Norfolk. It was the first or last change of horses on the Kings Lynn to Great Yarmouth coaching route. The stables and coach house have been converted to provide 3 double rooms, which are disabled friendly, with large shower rooms. There are 2 large family rooms sleeping upto five people and a selfcontained cottage sleeping six . There are 4 other double/twin rooms, 2 of which can sleep 3. The public bar and cosy restaurant have all been restored recently and are a wealth of beams with ingolnook fireplaces.The bar features a bar top and 4 semi circular tables of thick Welsh slate, which once were two cutting tables from the Royal tailors, Gieves and Hawkes No 1 Savilie Row London. the old court room for the area has also been restored and the old fireplace is again in working order, this room can be hired for private reception. The court yard provides secure parking which is locked at night. Ideal location for walking and cycling breaks with storage for bikes. All year round fishing within 400yds on day ticket with more in the locality. Fishing and birdwatching guides can be arranged. The Penthouse at Watton sleeps 3. On entrance through the flat door you enter into the inner hall. To the left is the bedroom with a 5ft and 3ft bed, hand basin and shower cubicle. Watton also has a Methodist Church situated in the High Street and both have regular services. In the High Street there is an unusual clock tower, which dates from 1679 AD. This was erected after a fire destroyed much of the town in 1674, reputedly so that its bells could warn townsfolk should such a disaster strike again. On the town sign are the two ‘babes’ from the popular fairytale. It is said that the nearby Wayland Wood is where the two ‘babes in the wood’ unfortunately met their fate. The hare (wat) and barrel (tun) also feature on the town sign showing the derivation of the town name. Watton has a thriving community with a bustling high street where you can purchase the locally made ‘Wayland Sausage’ and ‘Wayland Bap’.
