Plas Mawr, Eglwysfach is a Georgian country house in the heart of the Dyfi Valley. We offer excellent accommodation in three rooms; all have new modern en-suites, flat screen free view TV and radio. Free Wi-Fi, and Beverage Trays. We are ideal stop off for business travellers to Aberystwyth and Machynlleth. Only a 15min drive to the new National Assembly offices, University and National library. With early breakfast available for those that have to get to work. For Rest and Relaxation we are in an ideal location to explore the surrounding countryside and coast. We are walking distance to RSPB ynyshir. A short drive from the light Railways of Rheidol, Corris and Talyllyn. For the more energetic we have the Mountain biking trails Mach 1, 2, 3 or cli-machx, and Walking Cader Idris and the Plynlumun ranges. The Minffordd Hotel in Talyllyn valley, Mid Wales is set in probably the most breathtaking scenery in Britain and is situated at the base of the Cader Idris with the summit being 1 1/2 miles NW of the hotel. The original parts of the building are over 400 years old so as you might expect the walls are very thick and there are plenty of originally features such as the original wood beams which can be seen throughout the building and our log fire which is a key feature during the winter months. We have 2 lounges available for guest to relax in at any time of the day maybe after dinner with a glass or two of your favourite drink from our extensively well stocked bar. Our restaurant seats a maximum of twenty people for dinner therefore reservations are essential to guarantee you a table especially at weekends. Breakfast is also served here with a selection of fresh fruit, cereals & fruit juices, full breakfasts are cooked freshly to order. .......................... We are ideally situated at the base of CADER IDRIS Mountain here in southern SNOWDONIA, and a vast majority of guests are walkers & stay with us due to our location & easy access to the MINFFORDD PATH which is 5 minutes from our front door............................ We are also on the "mach loop" which is famous with plane spotters & photographers who also stay with us to view the low flying RAF aircraft that can be seen most days flying down the valley.................... Due to our scenic mountain location we are also favourite with landscapes & wildlife photographers who visit us to enjoy the fabulous scenery & wildlife. There are various golf courses ( Aberdovey, Harlech, Dolgellau, Machynlleth ) locally and fishing (coarse, game & sea) is also widely available locally........................ Ty Seren (in English Star House) is a 209 year old former woolen mill located in the centre of the lovely market town of Dolgellau, Gwynedd. If you like peace and tranquility in an affordable family-run Bed and Breakfast then this is the place for you. The accommodation - all on the first floor - comprises 3 individually decorated en-suite rooms with tea trays and televisions; a family room sleeping up to four, a double room and a single room. We can especially cater for groups of up to 6 Mountain Bikers coming to the nearby Coed y Brenin Mountain Bike Centre, as we have excellent storage in our large cellar and washing facilities for muddy bikes and clothes. The house has many character features, such as slate flagstones, oak staircase, large inglenook fireplace and oak beams, and also has the very unusual feature of an exterior stone staircase winding round the back of the building. Ty Seren lies just off of the main square of Dolgellau, a minutes walk from the nearest pub/restaurant and also 2 minutes walk from Ty Siamas, the new National Folk Music Centre of Wales. The house itself has a checkered history, at one time being a pub called The Star (Seren is Welsh for Star), at another housing three evacuated families on the open plan weaving floor up-stairs, we also have one of the earliest flat roof shop extensions in the area, circa.1860!

The hotel itself cannot accept pets for overnight stays, however we are able to arrange kennels just a couple of miles away for Rover to enjoy his holiday too. Assistance dogs are always welcome to stay and well behaved dogs are welcome in the bar. Winston our very friendly black Labrador lives here with us and is always ready to make new friends. We have 6 luxury bedrooms, all en-suite with bath and shower.
