The Swan Inn is an eighteenth century malt house set on the river front close to the heart of Ironbridge. It was an Inn when Abraham Darby was building the Bridge and as such it is rumored that site meetings were held at The Swan from time to time. Our 8 eight individually styled rooms and private suite ooze character many with period features such as the original beams. One even has a glass floor to show the original maltings which were rediscovered during renovations in the late 1980s. Most have stunning views of the River Severn and are all beautifully decorated, comfortable and convenient for the delights of the Ironbridge Gorge. If you are brave enough try staying in room 5 where several people have reported strange goings on in the night. Just ask the staff. They love to talk about it! Fantastic riverside location with 13 ensuite letting rooms all individually designed, 6 in the main part of the building and 6 in the Bakehouse Annex next door. The Bakehouse has a Penthouse Apartment with 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, kitchen & stunning lounge with views up the river, one with bedroom overlooking the lounge, spiral staircase leading to the top bedroom. The Riverside Suite on the 1st Floor has double balcony doors over the river, lounge & bedroom area with a large bathroom. The Garden room is at the back of the building with sole use of a huge back garden, The Turquoise room( & Pink with black chandelier ) is on the side on the 1st floor, The Rock Suite is on the ground floor and access to this is through a gated courtyard, which is shared the chocolate Suite. The Rock suite has a shower room, kitchen, lounge, bathroom and conservatory. The Chocolate Suite again leads off a gated courtyard shared with the aubergine room, this can be used as a family room or a twin, it has a double bed,single bed and room for a z bed. This early 1800s detached property previously built for the Foundry Master of the nearby Coalbrookdale works has been lovingly restored by the owners of the nearby Coalbrookdale Inn to reflect many of the original features influenced by the Georgian period. Period bathrooms, original fireplaces, high ceilings complete with picture rails, coving and crystal chandeliers, finished in three tone Georgian colours, far eastern style carpets and period style mahogany bedroom furniture complete the look and create the feel. The feel is continued in the dining room and lounge with original window shutters and fireplaces complimenting the view over the landscaped frontage and four off road car parking spaces. An eighteenth century Inn on the water front close to The Ironbridge. The White Hart has been around since before The Bridge was built and almost certainly accommodated craftsman and construction workers during the building of the bridge. There is also evidence to suggest that on occasions some of these workmen also used the bar! There have been stories of ghosts of previous landlords & things that “go bump in the night” but these are probably old wives tales told by the playful locals in the bar after one too many Pimm’s & lemonade The White Hart is a true Free house owned by Ironbridge Ventures & managed by Mike Hibbert formerly of the Old Irish Harp in Aldridge & The Eight Rights in Chester. The White Hart is a light, modern pub, influenced by continental style, although it still retains a traditional air in its atmosphere and warm welcome. The menu is simple but up-to-the-minute, with lots of comfort appeal, with homely things like steaks, homemade pie of the day and pasta as well as contemporary, global touches to keep things lively. A range of baguettes & jacket potatoes together with our “lite bites” are available every lunchtime 12-2.30 & Sunday 12 - 7pm (12 – 5 in Winter months) as well as our main menu. The worlds first, internationally most famous, and locally largest iron bridge is that which gives its name to the town of Iron Bridge in the south of Telford and is the towns most famous feature. It was built across the River Severn in 1779 by local ironmaster Abraham Darby III to demonstrate the quality of the iron now produced by the process his grandfather invented to smelt iron using coal rather than coke. Immediately, it was world-famous, President Thomas Jefferson of the USA being one of the first to buy an engraving of it!

The Halfway House Inn is a 16th Century Inn situated in beautiful Shropshire countryside just over a mile from Bridgnorth Town Centre. Peter & Cecile Williams have been at The Halfway House since 1997 & have been successful hoteliers & publicans for over 40 years. The Inn was somewhat notorious, mainly in relation to after hours drinking offences & the present proprietor is proud to be continuing this tradition,often well into the early hours, although now restricted to residents & their bona fide guests.First licensed in 1620,it was originally known as the Old Red Lion Inn but following a visit by Princess Victoria in 1823 whilst en route between Pitchford Hall near Shrewsbury & Great Witley Court near Worcester she asked where she was. The reply was given "halfway there mam". Since then date the Inn has been known by its present name. The oldest part of the building also boasts a wonderful example of an Elizabethan wall mural that has been preserved behind glass for all to see.
