Ideally situated just off the A590 between Kendal and Newby Bridge, the Gilpin Bridge Inn is immediately south of the beautiful unspoilt Lyth Valley and close to the South Lakes. Morecambe Bay with it abundance of Wild Fowl and The Wetlands Trust lies just to the South The Inn boasts a good selection of draught beers and has an excellent reputation for its real ale. There is a varied wine list, at moderate prices, to accompany your meal if you wish. Situated just 100 yards above the centre of the village of Bowness on Windermere the Hydro Hotel offers wonderful panoramic views over the north of Lake Windermere and is close enough to the village for you to explore! Built in 1873 - the Hydro is a wonderful Victorian hotel tastefully modernised to cater for todays discerning visitors and in a building adjacent to the Hydro is our own indoor swimming pool, sauna, spa bath and gymnasium. The Hydro has 78 tastefully decorated bedrooms, all en suite with TV, tea making facilities, hairdryer, trouser press and computer point. We are not an hotel, nor a guest-house - Lickbarrow Lodge is our own home in which we offer the choice of Bed & Breakfast accommodation in the charming guest-room - with oak floors and sheepskin rugs, or Self-Catering accommodation in the unique self-contained studio apartment , each room in keeping with the Arts and Crafts ethos. The Derby Arms is a Traditional Country Pub serving good local ales, an extensive selection of wine & excellent food in a traditional setting with log fires and period furniture.

Originally a farm house which dates from the turn of the century, this charming pub and restaurant also boasts accommodation of a high standard. We have 4 deluxe double bedrooms and 3 deluxe family bedrooms. All are en suite, decorated to a high standard and have tea/coffee making facilities, t.v. and hairdryers. All rooms are non smoking and we are sorry but pets are not allowed. All prices include a full English breakfast which uses local produce where possible. While staying with us you can use our excellent bar and restaurant facilities but we are also an ideal base for visiting many attractions and taking advantage of a host of activities.
