Art Car Parade to take Blackpool by storm
Blackpool is set to welcome the UK's first illuminated Art Car Parade this Friday.
As part of the traditional Blackpool illuminations, organisers have arranged for a spectacular procession of lit-up cars to drive up the famous promenade.
It is expected that around 15 to 20 vehicles will take place in the special event, with three making their debut at the Blackpool parade including a unique Green Goddess fire engine and an illuminated metallic fish built on a Nissan Micra complete with LED scales.
All of the vehicles will be on display in the "pits" from 4pm and people will be given the chance to talk with the designers before the free parade officially begins at 7pm.
This year's Blackpool illuminations will remain lit until November 4th. The lights were first organised in 1879 and it takes a special team of engineers nine weeks to dismantle the whole display.
