Edinburgh Hotel to receive extension
Edinburgh's popular George Hotel, which sits in the heart of the city centre, will receive a £5.2 million extension.
The project will include construction of a modern bar and restaurant that will have direct access from George Street for visitors who want to stay within walking distance to the city's attractions.
The two hundred-year-old, grade II listed building has rooms with views of the Edinburgh Castle and has a newly opening Tempus restaurant.
Visitors will be able to walk to museums and attractions during the day and head to the George Hotel's Tempus restaurant to sample international wines and listen to featuring jazz artists.
Another refurbished hotel in the city centre is the Royal British Hotel, which also offers views of Edinburgh Castle as well as a restaurant that overlooks Princes Street.
The Royal Botanic Garden and the Lauriston Castle are just some of the local attractions that are convenient for visitors staying within the city.
