The town centre of historical Keswick in Cumbria will see a new one-handed clock set in place in its Moot Hall, the famous building that has served as a courthouse, prison, museum, town hall and even a butter and fruit market and which conveniently is now home to the National Park Information Centre.

Keswick is quickly becoming what tourists to the Lake District call the "outdoor clothing capital" of England because of its range of national and specialty clothing stores for those planning an outdoor excursion around the lakes.

Visitors planning a trip to Keswick-on-Derwentwater and the Northern Lakes can expect a small but thriving town that is a popular stopping off place for travellers.

Self-catering options abound for the cosy family getaway or for the pack of adventurers. Keswick Cottages offers three different apartments near central Keswick and the Elliott Park area.

The compact area of both the town and the lakes is perfect for families to get around on foot if the winter weather permits or simply as an easy way to stroll around the shops on a weekend.
