Cornwall a must for the 'haunting break'
17th Nov 2007Even though Halloween has passed and the children's costumes are being stowed away, the thrill-seeker can enjoy hauntings and spirits year-round through specially guided tours.
Families and small groups can take part in tours through castles and mansions with companies like Haunting Breaks that allow the daring person to partake in activities like seances with psychics while also staying in the reported haunted accommodation.
The Wellington Hotel in Cornwall welcomes guests to investigate and experiences its other-worldy occurrences such as a reported ghost that appears floating up and down the stairs at night. The hotel, formerly known as The Bos Castle Hotel, was built in the 16th century and has housed such guests as King Edward VII and still operates as a hotel today.
Other attractions in the wider area of Penzance around Cornwall, that promise to be just as mysterious, include Pengersick Castle in Praa Sands that reportedly houses more than 20 ghosts.
Whatever your decision for a spooky trip may be, Cornwall's wide range of castles and historic venues will please everyone who comes to stay.
