Tourists with their favourite furry animals on tow around the UK will be happy to know that Devon has been voted one of the most pet-friendly places to stay in Britain.

If you are the type of family who can't stand to leave your fun-loving dog or cuddly cat behind on holiday, you won't be the odd one out in Devon.

The East Dart Hotel caters to pets as part of its sports and outdoor-themed atmosphere, which offers guests everything from horse riding, falconry lessons and fishing that will surely be acceptable by the pets.

The Holne Chase Hotel is another sporting-themed accommodation in Devon's countryside that offers a special two-night package for dogs that includes a king-sized basket accommodation, dog cuisine and dog grooming.

According to World Travel Market figures, the number of pets in the UK is expected to rise to 49 million this year, and the south-west area of Devon is more than happy to accommodate the smaller traveller while allowing the sporting enthusiast in you to enjoy the outdoors.
