Edinburgh to get 'floating hotel'
Edinburgh is set to have a floating hotel established on the Forth to hold the vast number of people expected to arrive for the clan gathering next year.
The event's organisers are expecting to see a massive influx of people to Edinburgh for the event in July and they will all need somewhere to stay, with hotels, bed and breakfasts and other accommodation all likely to be booked up well in advance of the event.
Both clan members and intrigued outsiders will be planning to take a trip to Scotland's capital for the event, meaning that a floating hotel will be needed to hold some of the 8,000 people expected to take part in the event.
Furthermore, many people will be looking for accommodation in the city at the time of the festival because it comes close to the busy Festival season in Edinburgh.
According to the Scotsman, the Queen Mary 2 will be drafted in to help provide accommodation, creating a floating hotel for visitors brought over from Canada and the US on the Forth.
