Devon 'tops' among destinations
Devon has been ranked among the most popular places in the world to visit for UK travellers.
Along with Cape Verdi, Brazil, Vietnam, Croatia, Las Vegas and Bulgaria, the south-west seaside resort achieved worldwide notoriety in the World Travel Market Global Trends report recently put out.
The warm climate, compared to the rest of the UK, its seafood, coastal attractions and commitment to excellence in sustainability are all reasons why families and couples should try Devon for the first time or return for another stay.
The region's excellent accommodation options including seaside hotels, cosy bed and breakfasts and large self-catering houses have won many awards for their efforts to protect the environment by using organic produce and reducing their carbon footprints.
Fiona Jeffrey, managing director of World Travel Market, said: "It appears to have a universal appeal, suitable for couples looking for a quick weekend away from it all, through to activity packed family breaks or a more laid back break.
"Devon has it all."
