Devon B&B: Plymouth to host big screen for the Olympics
In what will be a major attraction to guests of a Devon B&B, Plymouth has been chosen as one of eight UK cities to host a giant screen during the build up to the 2012 London games.
The huge screen will be installed in the City Centre piazza during June in time for the 2008 games in Beijing, China, and will remain in place for four years or more.
David Draffan, managing director of the Plymouth City Centre Company, told the BBC that this was a "huge coup" for Plymouth.
"It also gives us the potential to use the screen during the Plymouth Summer Festival and to build on the previous success of the Wimbledon screen," he added.
Mr Draffan said that the screen is in fact a gift from the sponsors of London 2012 Olympics.
He added this is because the organisers of the games are attempting to engage local communities, and those staying in Devon B&Bs, with the upcoming London games.
