Blackpool B&B: David Essex to perform in Blackpool

All music-lovers staying at a Blackpool B&B will be able to watch David Essex in concert in May as he prepares to play the Blackpool Opera House.

Over an almost 40-year career, Essex first sprung to the popular consciousness as a teen-pop idol with fame that could even rival the hysteria surrounding the Beatles.

The 60-year-old singer had number one hits such as Hold Me Close and Gonna Make Me a Star, and also appeared on Jeff Wayne's concept album War of the Worlds.

Essex is also known for his acting, notably in musicals including last year to excellent reviews in Andrew Lloyd Webber's Aspects of Love.

The concert will go ahead on May 22nd and the singer will perform a selection of his greatest hits and musical numbers.

With great pop music and the nostalgia factor, this will no doubt prove a major pull for guests staying at a Blackpool B&B.
