Food loving guests of a Cornwall B&B will be licking their lips ahead of the Cornish Asparagus Festival due to take place this Sunday.

Situated at the Penmore Manor Hotel in Falmouth, the festival will go ahead on May 18th from 11am to 3pm.

Sponsored by the Tregassow Asparagus Farm at St Erme, the event will celebrate everything associated with the vegetable.

Chef Joe Lado Devesa will provide a cooking demonstration with visitors able to learn more about the vegetable and the different ways to use it in cookery.

Equally, local food stalls and an asparagus-inspired roast dinner will be available, along with a bouncy castle and face-painting stall for younger visitors.

Jo Ramsden, event organiser, told thisiscornwall.co.uk that they are "looking forward to another great festival".

She added that they are keeping "fingers crossed for dry weather so that we can enjoy holding it outside".

"The cookery demonstration will go ahead despite the weather as we have a pagoda this year to protect our chef."

Great for food–lovers as well as families, the festival will no doubt prove a popular attraction for people staying at a Cornwall B&B.
