Visitors staying at a Devon B&B will soon be able to take a trip into the skies when a brand new balloon ride is opened to the public.

The 25 meter high balloon is based at Torre Abbey Gardens in Torquay and is able to take 30 passenger 122 meters up into the sky above Torbay.

There are already two other tourist balloon rides in operation in the UK, including one in Bournemouth and the other at Leeds Castle in Kent.

Derek Mills, Torbay councillor, told the BBC that a £14 ride will allow tourists to "see Torbay from a completely different angle; all the streets, the hotels, the landmarks".

"I think this will be a real plus for the bay," he added.

The balloon has been fully checked for safety by the Civil Aviation Authority and is presently going through final test launches before opening for the public.

Guests at a Devon B&B will no doubt relish the chance to fly high over the county and enjoy the fantastic views.
