Guests at a Devon B&B will soon be able to enjoy two brand new visitor centres situated on the county's Jurassic Coast

Located at Seaton and Exmouth, the visitor gateway centres will provide access to the 95 mile stretch of east Devon coastline that is a world heritage site.

It is hoped that this will boost visitor numbers and encourage eco-tourism, with visitors able to learn about geology and the modern effects of climate change.

Within the state-of-the-art visitor centres, people will also be able to view various locations around the coast and the Exe estuary via a network of webcams.

Margaret Rogers, Devon councillor and environment expert, said that this "great news" and will allow the towns to "progress and promote the Jurassic Coast".

"These will be landmarks in providing information and a focus for increasing knowledge of the Jurassic Coast, while linking with other projects such as the Stop Line Way cycle route from the Bristol Channel to the English Channel."

"They will be important to the work, leisure and tourism features of the area," she added.

Around 250,000 to 300,000 visitors are expected each year when the centres are finished, many of which will be staying at the numerous fantastic Devon B&Bs.
