For all book lovers staying at an Edinburgh B&B during May, celebrated crime writer Quentin Jardine is appearing at a literary talk at that Lothian library.

The Scottish author is best known for creating a series of novels focussed on the crime fighting activities of police constable Bob Skinner.

Mr Jardine will give a talk and meet his fans at the Port Seton library, on the outskirts of Edinburgh, on May 7th.

Librarian Irene Muir told the Scotsman that "we're absolutely delighted he's coming here. He's not plugging a new book or talking about a particular subject".

The East Lothian region is familiar to Mr Jardine because he used to live in Gullane and his wife is also from the area.

Mr Jardine has also created the character Oz Blackstone, who is a Hollywood actor that becomes a private detective.

A chance to quiz the author who has written over 20 novels, will no doubt prove appealing to guests at Edinburgh's many fantastic B&Bs.
