Edinburgh B&B: Barcelona to play in friendly in Edinburgh

In a football match of pure glamour, Barcelona are due to play a friendly at Hibernian this summer which will delight all sports fans staying at an Edinburgh B&B.

Hibernian FC, known as Hibs, is based at Easter Road in the Scottish capital, but the tie will go ahead at the giant Murrayfield stadium.

Hibs will take on a Barcelona side glittering with world-class talent, including Argentine whizz-kid Lionel Messi, Cameroon striker Samuel Eto'o and former Arsenal legend Thierry Henry.

The Spanish giants previously travelled to Edinburgh last year when they took on Hibs city rivals Hearts in a pre-season friendly.

Scott Lindsay, Hibs chief executive, told the Scotsman that the club are "delighted to be able to take part in a pre-season fixture against a team of Barcelona's stature".

"The last time the two clubs met in Edinburgh was over forty year's ago."

"That was a remarkable occasion and we fully expect this match to provide another fantastic experience for everyone involved," he added.

Barcelona will take on Hibs on July 26th, which will no doubt prove a major attraction for people staying at one of the many fantastic Edinburgh B&Bs.
