Celebrity chef Jamie Oliver is due to deliver a keynote speech at this year's Edinburgh International Television Festival, which will be a treat for guests of an Edinburgh B&B.

Comedian Armando Iannucci and Doctor Who writer Russell T Davies have also agreed to deliver speeches at the festival which runs from August 22nd to 24th.

Stylist Gok Wan is to present a version of his How to Look Good Naked show and Jimmy Carr will deliver a live performance of his panel show Eight Out of Ten Cats

This is the 34th MediaGuardian Edinburgh Television Festival where journalists, controllers of major channels and television-lovers gather to celebrate all things small-screen.

Andrew MacKenzie, head of factual entertainment at Channel 4 and advisory chairman to the festival, said that they are delighted by "such an exciting line up".

"I think this year's festival has something for everyone – policymakers, creative talent and celebrity stalkers."

"It comes at a crucial time in the debate over the future of public service television. But is also a showcase of some of British and World television's greatest creative forces," he added.
