Blackpool B&B: Eastenders star to play Romeo in Blackpool
Guests staying at a Blackpool B&B will soon be able to enjoy a modern version of Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet starring former Eastenders actor Jack Ryder.
Ryder, who played Jamie Mitchell in the soap, will take on the iconic role of Romeo in a performance due to run at Blackpool's Grand Theatre starting in November.
The Wales Theatre Company has created a series of modern takes on William Shakespeare's celebrated love story about two lovers caught between warring families.
Running from November 18th to 22nd, the updated take on the story focuses on various divisions in modern society on lines of race, religion and class.
A Sikh boy falls in love with a Hindu girl and both commit suicide together, a Muslim girl is taken to India for an arranged marriage and two young lovers from Yorkshire run away together.
Two-time Olivier award winner Michael Bogdanov directs the play which will no doubt prove a real treat for theatre-loving people staying at a Blackpool B&B.
