Blackpool B&B: Plan unveiled for Blackpool shopping centre
People staying at a Blackpool B&B will soon have a fantastic new shopping centre to enjoy when it opens later in the year.
The Houndshill development is due to launch on August 21st with the modern shopping facility already featuring 90 per cent occupancy with retailers.
Debenhams is to have the biggest presence, but there are also units planned for lingerie store La Senza, along with Next, River Island, Phones 4U, H&M and Costa Coffee.
The development is a £30 million project being undertaken by Manchester based Modus, which is also developing a retail quarter close to the Blackpool Tower.
Tim Heatley, director of Modus, told the Blackpool Gazette that they were pleased with progress at Houndshill, especially considering the presently difficult financial conditions.
Mr Heatley said that "Blackpool has always been a strong town" but added that a good quality retail hub "didn't exist until now".
"Houndshill Shopping Centre's architecture fuses a modern and contemporary feel with a classic Victorian design, bringing a stylish environment to the UK's top holiday resort," he said.
Guests staying at a Blackpool B&B will soon have this start of the art shopping facilities to utilise while enjoying a break away in the resort.
