Blackpool B&B: Top Gear team to switch on illuminations
Guests staying at a Blackpool B&B during August will be able to watch BBC2's Top Gear team switch on the world famous Blackpool illuminations.
Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May have been revealed as the special guest celebrities to turn on the lights on August 29th.
The ceremony will also feature in a future edition of motoring magazine show Top Gear which runs on BBC2 on Sunday evenings.
Andy Wilman, Top Gear executive producer, said that "the boys are really looking forward to it as one of the things they all enjoy is turning on lights".
Councillor Maxine Callow would not reveal what was planned for the ceremony, saying only that "it promises to be a spectacular night, something really different".
It is hoped that Top Gear's worldwide profile will help to boost visitor numbers and corporate backing for the switch-on ceremony.
The chance to see the three presenters turn on the illuminations will no doubt prove an attractive prospect for people staying at a Blackpool B&B.
