People staying at a Cornwall B&B will soon be able to enjoy a popular beach cafe that is being rebuilt after a tragic fire last year.

Extensive building work has been going on during the past six weeks at the cafe based on the beach at Chapel Porth near St Agnes.

The previously well attended cafe is owned by the National Trust and suffered an accidental blaze last September which meant that it had to close its doors.

Following a £130,000 insurance claim, the cafe is currently being completely restored to feature the same slate roof and stone walls.

There will also be some changes to the interior in line with modern requirements and regulations.

Bill Makin, National Trust area warden, told West Briton that "the interest from local people has shown that the cafe and car park play a central role in St Agnes".

"People are keen to see it back as soon as possible," he added.
As soon as the popular cafe returns to St Agnes it will once more prove a great place to visit for people staying at a Cornwall B&B.
