Devon B&B: Sidmouth Folk Week returns for 2008

Sidmouth Folk Week is set to get underway in August and will offer people staying at a Devon B&B the chance to enjoy a huge range of traditional music.

Running from August 1st to 8th, Sidmouth Folk Festival sees the town transform to a giant venue for music, food and art.

Over 500 musical events will be performed during the week in a range of venues with the largest being the 900-seat Ham marquee.

Equally, the streets of Sidmouth seafront will come alive with a range of dancers, marches and buskers offering free entertainment to locals and tourists alike.

Exciting shows on the programme include Irish virtuoso violinist Martin Hayes playing alongside Chicago guitarist Dennis Cahill.

There is the opportunity to see folk band Show of Hands who were previously nominated for best live act by Radio 2 alongside hurdy-gurdy group Blowzabella.

With so much international class folk music set to be performed in the pretty town of Sidmouth, there will likely be something for everyone staying at a Devon B&B.
