Edinburgh B&B: Photo exhibit set for National Gallery

Art-loving guests staying at an Edinburgh B&B can view a brand new exhibition focusing on the growth of European photography.

The show is titled Foto: Modernity in Central Europe and is currently running at the Dean Gallery in the National Gallery Complex.

Covering the period of 1918 to 1945, the exhibition runs until August 31st and has been organised by National Gallery of Art in Washington.

It deals with a period of trailblazing photography pioneers who pushed the art form forward, both aesthetically and technically, despite much political and social upheaval.

Staged between the two World Wars, mass media and the rise of consumerism drives photography innovation onward and sets out the blueprint for how we know it today.

Running alongside the exhibition is a screening of the Blue Angel which was the film which launched the career of movie legend Marlene Dietrich.

Foto: Modernity in Central Europe will surely prove a must for all fans of photography or history staying at an Edinburgh B&B this summer.
