Edinburgh B&B: Revamp set for historic Edinburgh pub
Edinburgh's historic public house the Holyrood Tavern is set for a major reinvention which will provide another place to visit for people staying at an Edinburgh B&B.
In a major revamp, the sadly stricken public house will be painted purple and rebranded as the Correspondent to appeal to a wider range of visitors.
Greater ambiance will be achieved with modern mood lighting both inside and on the frontage, and a brand new menu has been created featuring local produce.
Colin Valentine, director of the Campaign for Real Ale, told the Evening News that "the Holyrood was a real traditional Edinburgh boozer".
"Because it's been over a year since it closed they will need to do something entirely different, because the people who used to use it will have moved away to other places now."
"Having food could be the difference between making a loss, breaking even or making a profit," he added.
The Correspondent is based close to the incredible new Scottish Parliament building which is a popular place to visit for people staying at an Edinburgh B&B.
