Guests staying at an Edinburgh B&B this weekend enjoyed the fantastic Royal Highland Show as it went ahead on the outskirts of the Scottish capital.

The celebrated agricultural show features the much cherished food hall with an incredible range of produce from around the Strathclyde region.

People attending the show were also able to enjoy samples of food and drink that were handed out by over 100 companies.

Richard Lochhead, Scottish environment secretary, also unveiled the new 'future food policy' including food education and tourism, government procurement and sustainable development.

Around 150,000 people visited the show and enjoyed salsa dancing on the bandstand, a 50-voice Welsh choir, alongside the event's first ever Highland Games

A grand parade of livestock went ahead, along with exhibitions of sheep shearing, horse jumping and also children's cookery.

The Royal Highland Show proved another fantastic and educational attraction for families staying at an Edinburgh B&B.
