Party loving guests staying at an Oxfordshire B&B can enjoy a big party in Oxford tomorrow as the Barton Bash gets underway.

Launched two years ago, the free event in the Barton area of the city features salsa dancing, gospel music and a football tournament, among other things.

It was pioneered by the local community after it was decided the area's annual carnival needed a new boost of energy.

The event at the Barton Neighbourhood Centre in Underhill Circus will be opened by Oxford's Lord Mayor Susana Pressel with over 1,000 people expected to attend.

Sue Holden, secretary of Barton Community Association, told the Oxford Mail that "it's a nice family day and everybody comes along. The whole idea is that it's a true family event".

"There's something for the men, something for the mothers and something for teenagers and small children - everybody is catered for and everybody is welcome," she added.

The Barton Bash will no doubt provide another fantastic attraction for people staying at an Oxfordshire B&B.
