People coming to stay in one of Oxford's many fantastic B&Bs can now travel in style from London on luxury antique train carriages.

A ride on the British Pullman Orient Express may cost £350 but that does include a three course supper accompanied by champagne along with brunch with Bellini cocktails.

Pulled by a steam locomotive, passengers leave London at 0:900 BST on Saturday and are then taken the remaining distance by diesel engine when the journey reaches Didcot.

The 11 dining cars were built between 1927 and 1938 and include part of Winston Churchill's funeral train and a carriage used in the movie Agatha.

Anna Nash, publicity manager for the Orient Express, told the Oxford Mail that the service proves popular with trainspotters, who flock to take pictures of the unique engines.

"It's very different to a modern train," she said.

"Its age means it holds a lot of mystery and when people see it in the flesh there is a general sense of wonderment about the locomotive and the people that are travelling on it."

As an incredible way to arrive in Oxford in sumptuous luxury, this service may well prove popular with people intending to stay at an Oxfordshire B&B.
