Oxfordshire B&B: Wakestock gets underway
27th Jun 2008The Wakestock festival of music and sports gets underway this weekend which will be a huge attraction for guests staying at an Oxfordshire B&B.
Staged at historic Blenheim Palace, the three day event will run from June 27th to 29th and feature some of the best music groups playing alongside wakeboarding events.
This marks the first time that the World Heritage Site has staged such a festival that also involves wakeboarders competing in front of the crowd.
Acts due to perform include dance duo Groove Armada, hip hop group the Streets and singer Estelle who recently had a number one hit with American Boy.
Equally, 1980s legends the Happy Mondays, celebrated producer Mark Ronson and rock band Supergrass will all take to the stage.
The event is twinned with another festival in Abersoch, Wales, where the same mix of chart topping music and wakeboarding will go ahead during July.
Wakestock will no doubt prove a real treat for devotees of sport and music staying at the many fantastic Oxfordshire B&Bs.
