Blackpool B&B: Rising comedy star plays the Blackpool Grand

A rising star on the comedy circuit has been announced to play Blackpool later in the year which will prove a treat for comedy fans staying at a Blackpool B&B.

Stand-up and television star Jason Manford will perform his one-man show at the Blackpool Grand Theatre on November 8th.

Manford regularly appears on the panel of Channel 4's hit comedy show 8 Out of Ten Cats, which is hosted by fellow comic Jimmy Carr.

His career started while working as a glass collector in Manchester's the Buzz comedy club after an act didn't show up and Manford was drafted in as a replacement.

Awarded north-west comedian of the year in 1999, his 2005 show Urban Legend was also nominated for a Perrier Award at that year's Edinburgh Fringe Festival.

In 2006 he won the best breakthrough act at the Chortle Awards for his sharp observational humour that has been compared to Peter Kay.
