Opera group Encore are heading back to Broughton this summer to stage another gala evening of entertainment for guests staying at a Cumbria B&B.

Based at Broughton's Eccle Riggs Hall on July 12th, the evening will feature Encore's established singers, such as Eileen Lithgow and John Brice, performing in the manor house.

Visitors can enjoy an early evening picnic on the grounds where gazebos will be erected to protect guests from the elements and music played to offer entertainment.

Later, the audience will assemble indoors to hear Encore sing a selection of celebrated operatic pieces alongside newly composed material.

The evening is all in aid of Cumbrian charity Lakeland Opera which stages a major performance every two years, such as Verdi's Nabucco which is planned for November 2009.

This festival of food and music will no doubt prove a genuine delight for people staying at a Cumbria B&B during July.
