Devon B&B: Day of festivities to honour Torbay lifeboat crews

Guests staying at a Devon B&B are able to enjoy the debut fundraising week of events running until July 27th in aid of Torbay lifeboat crews.

During the week there will be a special fashion catwalk show featuring members of the lifeboat team, alongside a crab-catching competition, raft building and bake sale.

However, the major attraction occurs on July 23rd when the Red Devils parachute stunt team drops into Brixham harbour while visitors enjoy a seafront barbeque.

Jon Welch, event co-ordinator, told the South Devon Herald Express that "we are delighted to welcome the Red Devils to our first full week of activities".

Mr Welch also expressed his hope that the week would encourage increased sea safety as well as offering the chance for people to meet members of the lifeboat service.

The week kicks off today with the Brixham town band at the local fish market before proceedings move to Paignton harbour tomorrow with visitors able to tour a lifeboat.

An excellent range of events alongside the chance to support the hardworking lifeboat crews will surely prove too good to miss for people staying at a Devon B&B.
