Edinburgh B&B: Edinburgh gears up for the Fringe

The world-renowned Edinburgh Fringe is due to dominate the Scottish capital during August which will provide a wide range of attractions for guests staying at an Edinburgh B&B.

Running form August 3rd to 25th, the Fringe will feature over 30,000 performances from in excess of 2,000 artists in 247 venues across Edinburgh.

The event started in 1947 at the same time that the Edinburgh Fringe Festival was founded in the post-war period to re-build and re-unite Europe through culture.

Comedy forms a major part of the Fringe with over 30 per cent of shows featuring humour followed by 29 per cent being theatrical performances.

Equally, musical and opera shows will compose 17 per cent of the Fringe and five per cent will be dance & physical theatre.

Around 1.7 million tickets were sold last year for shows at the Fringe and that is expected to rise significantly this year.

With so much music, art, comedy, dance and theatre on offer at the Fringe, there will surely be something for everyone to enjoy while staying at an Edinburgh B&B.
