Edinburgh B&B: James Bond exhibit comes to Edinburgh

James Bond fans staying at an Edinburgh B&B can enjoy an incredible exhibit of film posters, book covers and other assorted memorabilia from the famous spy series.

Based at the City Art Centre, the exhibition is titled Bond Bound: Ian Fleming and the Art of Cover Design.

Running until September 14th, the exposition has been organised to mark the 100th year since the birth of James Bond creator, Ian Fleming.

The selection of books written by Fleming runs from Casino Royale in 1953 to Octopussy in 1966 and many feature fantastic cover art created by Richard Chopping.

Much of the artwork depicts seductive young women drenched in vibrant colours, such as the burnished maiden on the cover of the iconic Goldfinger.

Equally, the exhibition features the modern novels that interpreted Fleming's ideas including the Penguin editions in 2002 which had more up-to-date cover artwork.

Bond is still a worldwide phenomenon with the films being seen by millions of people and in excess of 100 million copies of the books having been purchased over the years.

For lovers of Bond or just popular culture, this exhibition will surely prove a treat not to be missed while staying at an Edinburgh B&B.
