Cumbria B&B: TV spider on show in the county
People staying at a Cumbria B&B can visit an attraction at Lake Windermere to experience many of the creatures featured in the incredible BBC series Lost Land of the Jaguar.
Based in Guyana, the series features Steve Backshall and his team uncovering some incredible animals and insects in the rainforest.
Visitors are able to experience these amazing creatures at an exhibit in the Aquarium at the Lakeside Centre based at Lake Windermere.
This includes the fearsome Goliath bird-eating spider which can become the size of a dinner-plate when it reaches adulthood.
Charlotte Brown, Lakeside marketing manager, says "we are delighted that creatures like our amazing spider are now becoming better known, as conservation of the rainforest and its native species, is hugely important".
"By educating viewers, in the same way that we communicate key conservation messages to our visitors, Lost Land of the Jaguar should play a significant part in rainforest protection," she added.
Inside the special rainforest exhibit, guests staying at a Cumbria B&B are also able to view a caiman and two cute pygmy marmosets.
