Devon B&B: Folk festival still going strong
7th Aug 2008Devon B&B guests have been assured that the future of one of the region's most popular events is secure.
According to the West Briton, rumours had been circulating that the Cornwall and Devon Countryman's Fair could be in jeopardy due to the red tape involved.
However, Michael Williams, one of the team involved in organising the event, assured fans that this year will not be the last people see of the bi-annual festival.
"I think I will be letting go of it in the future, not in the sense I do not want to have it here, but rather for someone else to take over the responsibility," he told the publication.
Falconry, motorcycle displays and clay pigeon shooting are among the activities that keep the crowds entertained at the event.
According to Country Wide Information Cornwall, the fair at Werrington Park attracts 9,000 people and hosts 150 stalls.
